"Let nothing be wasted." It was amazing to me that for so many years I had completely overlooked this part of the verse. It is a statement that should've stuck out to me for so many reasons, yet I seemed to focus more on the fact that Jesus made a meal for 5,000 with so little. But now, as I continue to read this passage, it means so much more, as I work for an organization that saves what is left over in order to give it to people who will not be wasteful with it. People who will make the most of what's given to them, and be appreciative of it no matter what it is.
All of us here at Morgan County Food Rescue want everything we do to be biblically based, and having words like this from scripture, from the lips of Jesus, helps us realize we are on the right track. God has blessed us as a nation with so much, so why wouldn't we want to bless others in any way that we can? By saving, and being resourceful we can help organizations continue to stay open and help feed those in our community.
God has blessed us with so many wonderful companies that bless us daily with food, and has also placed so many wonderful organizations in our path to give this food to. We pray that we continue to thank Him for everything and let
all praise, honor and glory go to Him.
